Split PDF Documents & Extract Specific Page Ranges
Separate large PDF files into individual pages or extract custom page ranges (e.g., 1-5, 8, 11-14) into a lightweight, standalone PDF document. Fast, accurate, and completely private.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Load Target PDF
Select or drop your multi-page PDF document. The tool reads total page counts instantly.
Specify Page Ranges
Enter comma-separated ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5, 9-12) or choose to split every page into separate files.
Isolate Page Objects
The engine extracts selected page dictionaries and purges orphaned assets to minimize file weight.
Download Split Files
Download your extracted PDF document immediately without wait times.
🔒 Privacy & Data Security Guarantee
100% Client-Side Page Extraction: Your sensitive documents never leave your machine.
Orphaned Resource Pruning for Minimal Output Size
When pages are extracted from a monolithic PDF, many tools inadvertently copy the entire document's global resource dictionary (including high-resolution graphics and embedded fonts used on non-selected pages). This causes a 2-page excerpt to remain 50MB in size.
Our client-side engine performs recursive dependency traversal. It extracts only the fonts, images, and content streams directly referenced by the target pages, producing an exceptionally compact output document.
Supported Page Range Syntax Examples
| Input Syntax | Extracted Pages | Example Output Document |
|---|---|---|
| 1-5 | Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 | Executive summary / Chapter 1 |
| 1, 3, 5, 7 | Only odd-numbered pages | Front-side duplex scan separation |
| 10-25, 30 | Pages 10 through 25 plus page 30 | Selected appendix and audit certificate |
| All (Single Page Burst) | Every page saved as an individual PDF | Batch invoice and receipt archiving |
Advanced Technical Considerations & Standards
Processing binary documents directly in client memory requires careful lifecycle management. When documents containing multiple high-resolution vector layers or uncompressed bitmap streams are parsed, memory usage can expand up to 4x the raw file size. Our engine utilizes WebAssembly heap isolation and typed arrays (Uint8Array and Float32Array) to prevent memory fragmentation and ensure smooth performance even on low-powered mobile devices.
All file transformations conform strictly to the ISO 32000-1 (PDF 1.7) specification, ensuring that generated documents render identically across Adobe Acrobat, Apple Preview, Google Chrome, and standard commercial digital printing presses without missing fonts or broken font subset tables.
